KABUL (Reuters) - Live rock returned to Afghanistan after three long decades on Saturday as young men and women cheered and leapt into the air to the sound of heavy bass beats and punk rock.

Come Tuesday night, Mötley Crüe, Poison and New York Dolls will pump decibels of raucous rock music into Fresno's Save Mart Center. Many of their hard-rocking fans -- now in their 40s and 50s -- will probably be more worried about getting up for work the next morning than finding the best afterparty.
