A couple weeks ago long-running Canadian punks Propagandhi came through London, Ontario’s Music Hall while promoting their newest album “ Supporting Caste ”. A few hours before they took the stage I had the opportunity to talk with drummer, and one of two original members, Jord Samolesky . Our chat lasted over an hour and we touched on things like hockey, musical influences, the new album, hockey, Todd ’s lack of voice, very interesting books and organizations, hockey, and much, much more!

Call Propagandhi whatever you like: Political punks, vegan activists, musical pranksters, or even -- to quote their record label -- four visibly aging prairie skids who are unrepentant residents of humankind's peanut gallery.

Insightful lyrics, powerful singing, and clean, strong music make this a compelling band. There was a joke that made the rounds in the late 1970s early 1980s that asked what was the difference between punk and new wave music. Punks, the answer went, wore pins stabbed through their skin, while new wavers wore pins emblazoned with the names of their favourite bands. Not a very good joke perhaps, ...
