Gene Pumphrey MOBILE, Ala. - Gene Sargent Pumphrey, 84, formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Mobile Nursing Home in Mobile, Ala. She was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Derma. She was retired from the Veterans Administration in Jackson.
